Utility Billing FAQs
My address is annexed inside City limits, but my water is through Paulding County... why?

The City of Dallas is not a water producer. The City purchases water as a wholesale customer from Paulding County Water. This creates water service jurisdiction areas, so some addresses are within City jurisdiction and others are not. Contact us to determine if City or County is your water provider.

When are bills due?

Bills post between 11th and 13th of each month, and are due the 10th of the following month.

What is the street light fee on my bill?

On City of Dallas bill statements, all addresses annexed inside City limits are charged a monthly City-wide street light fee. This fee is to generate revenue to install new lighting and upgrade current lighting throughout the City. This fee is NOT just pertaining to the street light on your particular street.  If you would like to install street lighting in your area, please contact our Public Works Department - 770-443-8117 ext. 1406

What is the monthly service charge on my bill?

If the City of Dallas is your water provider, we charge a monthly service charge which is based on meter size. Majority of our residents have a .75" size meter, so the service charge is $10 per month. This charge helps cover cost of the meter software associated with the electronic meter which includes capability of pulling hourly usage reports. Our residents can access and monitor their water usage through our online portal by setting a daily usage threshold limit. Residents can opt in to receive email, phone call, text or all three notification the moment they go over their threshold limit.

Does the City give a "grace period" for past due balances before interruption of services?

Yes - if you cannot get your bill paid by 10th of each month, a 10% late fee is added the following business day. You have until the 20th of that same month (so an additonal 10 days) to get past due portion paid before account is subject for cutoff 21st of the month.

What utility services does the City of Dallas provide?

Depending on the service address, the City of Dallas provides water, sewer and sanitation service to residents. If your address is annexed inside City limits (meaning you pay City taxes), the City of Dallas if your trash provider. Water and sewer service vary between the City and County, so please contact us to determine which is your water/sewer utility provider.
